Acromax, Humphrey, Ezat Azur, Chinese dancers, Gizmo, Black Cats and Celtic dancing were among the entertainment delights at the “garden full of cultural delights” on Sunday (13th August), in St Leonards Gardens
The Mayor of Hastings, Cllr Judy Rogers, held a community picnic as part of the event to take the opportunity to reflect on how essential it is to develop understanding and friendship beyond religious and cultural differences.
Cllr Rogers said :- “ I am delighted to see so many people attending the picnic and Garden of Cultural Delights on Sunday afternoon. It was particularly pleasing to be able to welcome the Imam, Ismail Yusuf from Hastings Mosque, and join with him in enjoying the beautiful afternoon in St Leonards Gardens along with the local community. One Hastings, Many Voices was demonstrated by all those who spent time in the gardens sampling the food on offer, enjoying the entertainment and most of all, each other’s company.”
The garden full of cultural delights is an annual event, organised by the Interfaith Forum, and is supported by Hastings Borough Council.
