One Night in Bangkok – with the Ladyboys, in Brighton!

Although Brighton Fringe Festival has technically been around since the late sixties, the spring streets of the city have only “officially” hosted the event since 2006. It is the largest annual arts festival in England and one of the largest fringe festivals in the world. The programme includes over 1000 events, in about 170 venues across the city, for four weeks, in May and June every year.

Without doubt, one of the most popular shows at the Brighton Fringe Festival is the annual visit by The Ladyboys of Bangkok. After first appearing as a small show at the Edinburgh Festival in 1998, The Ladyboys have now been seen by over 5 million people, touring in the UK alone for 7 to 8 months each year.

The UK tour is based around residences in their own, purpose-built, Tensile structure; The Sabai Pavilion. Seating up to 500 people, twice nightly, the comfortable cabaret venue includes 2 bars, authentic Thai street food and they even have their own Tuk-Tuk!

The main UK tour, in the Sabai Pavilion, takes in cities including Edinburgh and Brighton for the festivals, Bristol, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Cardiff, Belfast and Derby, and, whilst the equipment is moved between venues (by a team of over 40 crew and 22 articulated lorries), the show transfers out and becomes the “theatre tour” during the 4 or 5 days it takes to move each time.

This 25th anniversary production has a glamorous cast of 16 who, quite unbelievably, were all born male, in a fun filled outrageously funny new production, with more glitz and star-spangled sassiness than you can squeeze into any of your average party nights out! The show is packed with the biggest floor fillers from your favourite music superstars, performed by the biggest showbiz divas in the world!

The Ladyboys of Bangkok show is where London’s West End meets Hollywood and Broadway every night of the week. It’s the greatest and most fabulous evening of entertainment, a true celebration of 25 years of fun. So, grab your friends, warm up your vocal chords and get your dancing shoes on, because it’s time to party.

It’s never rude or crude, just cheekier and funnier than ever!

Tickets for the whole 2024 tour, including the Brighton residency from May 3rd to June 2nd, as always, are selling fast but, if you’re quick, they are available from www.ladyboysofbangkok.co.uk, by phone on 07479 236252 and, from May 1st, at the on-site box office in Brighton from 12pm to 9.30pm daily.
