If you would like to donate your poppy please call into the Help Point at 96 Church Walk, Burgess Hill from Monday 21 October.
David Truran, Parade Marshall of the Royal British Legion – Burgess Hill Branch, said “I am very pleased that once again the youth of Burgess Hill will be playing a large part in the parade and the service at the War Memorial. The younger generations are showing a lot more interest in learning about the two World Wars and the conflicts that have taken place and are still ongoing to this day and we are happy for them to join us on Remembrance Day to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.”
Chris Thomas-Atkin, Town Mayor said “The Remembrance Day commemorations in Burgess Hill are important to the local community. It is vital that we preserve this event as an opportunity for our community, including our young people, to pay its respects to those who gave their lives for others. We need to continue to develop this event to help future generations to learn about, and understand, the importance of the sacrifices that were made.”
