Seaside Towns Set for Holiday Boom

Britain’s seaside towns can look forward to a boom time when the Covid-19 travel restrictions are lifted but it may only be short lived.

That’s the prediction of David Davis, Chairman, GoTravellersClub.com which has been testing members’ thoughts about their holiday plans when life returns to normal.

“At first for many people there will be a fear about even going out of their homes and only when that wears off will they start thinking about holidays. They say that flying to another country will be avoided for a good while and overall, there was a clear vote for a seaside holiday in Britain” he says.

Hiking, biking and glamping holidays were also high on members’ “wish lists” with the Lake District and the Isle of Skye the most popular destinations.

In the short term the future looks bright for the UK tourism industry, but Britons have not given up foreign travel forever according to the feedback from GoTravellers Club members.

“It is clear that in time the attraction of travelling overseas again will return, despite the inevitable extra health safety measures on planes and at airports”, Davis said.

When that happens, the most popular destinations will be South America, Mexico, Thailand and, somewhat surprisingly China. Off most plans are the United States, Spain and France.
