South East winner announced in the race for Britain’s Best Bridesmaid!

The wait is almost over! Group travel expert Red7 has come one step closer to crowning Britain’s Best Bridesmaid and the competition is fiercer than ever, with nearly 500 nominations received in total.

Brides from across the country nominated the top team players from their #wedsquad and the judges carefully examined every entry. Now, Red7 reveals its seven regional winners in the race for the title.

Not only will the ultimate winning bridesmaid receive the prestigious title of Britain’s Best Bridesmaid (and major bragging rights!), she will also be whisked away on her very own ‘BridesmaidMoon’, a fantastic Red7 cruise to Bruges and Amsterdam.

Introducing Angela Bubb, the regional winner for the South East. Angela, from Gillingham, Kent, pulled through a medical emergency abroad to stand by her sister-in-law’s side on the big day.

Chelsea Hathaway-Barrett’s dream wedding in Turkey went badly wrong when, just four days before the ceremony, guests began to fall ill. The embattled bride thought that it could not get any worse, but disaster struck for a second time.

Chelsea’s brother-in-law called her just two days before the wedding to tell her that bridesmaid Angela was unconscious. “Angela had slipped running to be sick and she wouldn’t wake up,” explains Chelsea.

After she was rushed to hospital it emerged that Angela had both a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain. Chelsea’s dream of a Mediterranean wedding had quickly turned into a nightmare. Angela was kept in hospital overnight and was discharged on the eve of the special day. “I thought she wouldn’t make it to my wedding, let alone be a bridesmaid,” says Chelsea.

To everyone’s surprise, the brave bridesmaid put her best foot forward and fulfilled her duties as if nothing had happened. “She walked down the aisle as my bridesmaid and stood through all the photos with a smile on her face even though she was in so much pain.”

After her emergency abroad, Angela had some good news: she had been pregnant all along. She is expecting her baby – Chelsea’s niece or nephew – to arrive in June.

Red7 founder Ian Lucas commented: “Congratulations to our magnificent seven!

“We are confident that we have selected a dream team that represents the best of British bridesmaids.

“Angela’s bridesmaid story stood out for her dedication – she reminded us of ourselves!”
