After over 30 years of service as an Arun District Councillor, retired Councillor Mrs Jean Goad has received the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, (MBE) for services to Local Government.
The MBE has been awarded to Mrs Goad for the huge impact she has made on her community and surrounding area. She is a fundamental and diligent driving force, supporting local residents over the years in her roles as both a District and Parish Councillor.
Amongst her key achievements as Councillor, Mrs Goad campaigned to ensure local people are serviced by effective flood defences and sewage management provision as part of the Local Plan and continues to display her passion and tenacity for improving the community in which she lives. She has created public awareness and interest in local issues and has inspired and empowered people to become engaged in the democratic process.
