Women from all communities are invited to attend a special event organised by Alzheimer’s Society in Crawley on Thursday 29th January between 12noon and 2pm. The Sangam Women’s Open Day at Crawley Library will see guest speakers focusing on health and social care issues. The quarterly meeting will also update and discuss how Crawley is working towards becoming a Dementia Friendly Community.
Sue Rennie, Alzheimer’s Society Services Manager for West Sussex North, told The Sussex Newspaper: ‘We want women from all communities across Crawley and the surrounding areas to come along to this event and learn more about health and social care issues. Members of the group are very much part of Crawley as it works towards becoming a Dementia Friendly Community.’
The guest speakers include Simon Lee, from NHS One Call Service, Sonia Jayatilaka and Steve Mears from the Independent Living Services, and Navneet Labana from Age UK to discuss local community clubs in Crawley.
There will be light refreshments at the event at Crawley Library, in Southgate Avenue. For more information on the event or the services Alzheimer’s Society provides in the area, call the charity’s Sussex Helpline on 01403 213017.
