The first ever stage production of ITV’s highly-successful Sunday evening 60s police drama Heartbeat, is coming to the Devonshire Park Theatre Eastbourne, from 4th April to 9th April, starring some of the original TV cast members!
Based on The Constable series of novels by Nicholas Rhea, Heartbeat ran on ITV for 18 years from 1992 to 2010 in its regular Sunday night slot. Audiences consistently exceeded 10 million viewers and the show was constantly in the top five television programmes across all the channels.
Now it comes to the stage, for the first time, starring show regulars David Lonsdale who played the loveable David Stockwell and Steven Blakeley (pictured above) who played PC Geoff Younger. They are joined by a strong cast including Hollyoaks star Matt Milburn, playing handsome copper PC Joe Malton.
Other favourite characters including Gina Ward and Bernie Scripps will also be making an appearance in this production which, with use of video footage, a 60s soundtrack and a brilliant set, recreates the atmosphere of the 1960s rural Yorkshire settings.
The production also features a brand-new script and original storyline and offers a great opportunity to take you back to the 60s, including all the great music that was a feature of the TV series, in a scintillating two-hour live stage show.
