Members of the West Crawley County Local Committee and residents have heard an update from the contactors of the West Sussex street lighting project.
During the meeting, the Committee and residents heard from SSE Contracting how the project was progressing. This came following concerns among members and residents about how the project was proceeding. Chairman Chris Oxlade said: “We had a good discussion between SSE Contracting and residents and members during the meeting about the street lighting project. It was a positive exchange and many outstanding issues were resolved.” Among other items, the Committee agreed to allocate a total of £2,944 in Community Initiative Funding to three projects – Relate North and South West Sussex for four new laptops and training in Skype Counselling; to the Silver Birch Singers towards a music workshop, and to Crawley Young Persons Council towards the 2014 election costs. The Committee also agreed highways priorities for inclusion in the Local Infrastructure Plan for 2016/2017.
The next meeting of the Committee will take place on March 20 at Crawley Library, Southgate Avenue.
